Pink 1985 Haro Master Freestyler
I got this 1985 Haro Master Freestyler in the summer of 1986. It was my first “real” freestyle bike, and I rode it hard for two years.

I didn’t know it at the time, but apparently the pink ones are super rare. Most verions of this bike were white, chrome, or green, with the latter being ubiquitous in freestyle BMX from the bike’s release in 1985 until the sport’s initial downturn in the early 90s.

Nashville NBL contest, summer 1986. That's Kenneth Evans in the pink shorts, Gerry Smith with no shirt, and me with the Pink Haro.
I held up the pink Haro contingent for those two years, competing in every contest my parents would haul me to in the Southeast.

The frame has been sitting in the barn at my parents’ house in Alabama since its retirement in 1988. I picked it up when I moved to Austin last summer, and now it’s been relegated to decoration. The pink goes well with my kitchen though.

Very nice. I had a green one.
Awesome!! I also have a pink ‘85 Master, I never saw another real one. I bought mine as a complete survivor (except grips) in 1997 for $75. I still have it, its a little beat up though.

Wow dude very cool we competed at a lot of the same contest. I remember seeing you ride that bike…….
Minor Threat sticker on their since the beginning?
Hey, Nick… Minor Threat sticker on there since ‘87 or so.
I’m very interested to know the serial # of either the two original pink frames mentioned. I’m guessing they would be 8511XXXX?
haha sick.
Hey, Chip:
I’ll check the number on mine and get back to you.
